(Muskegon, MI) – Plans are moving along to convert a former furniture factory in Muskegon into housing. On Tuesday night, the Muskegon City Commission gave its approval for the old Shaw-Walker Furniture Factory to be converted into 450 apartments, 70 condominiums, 37 townhomes, and commercial space.
The building has sat empty since 1989 and construction is expected to begin this fall. Construction is then expected to take up to five-years to complete.
