(Lansing, MI) – The USS Lansing is being built in Alabama. Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined officials on the steps of the state Capitol yesterday to make the announcement of the vessel’s name. She will be an honorary crewmember of the U.S. Navy ship and says she is grateful for that.
Whitmer says she is looking forward to the ship’s formal commissioning ceremony that she hopes will be in Michigan.
