(Grand Rapids, MI) – Fifty-million-dollars is being donated by the DeVos Family Foundation to support the expansion of pediatric care in the Grand Rapids area. Corewell Health’s Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, and Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services will receive the money. The children’s hospital will receive 40-million-dollars to expand the pediatric intensive care unit by 14 beds and support the blended medical psychiatric unit that will open this spring.
The Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, created by DeVos Children’s and Mary Free Bed hospitals, will open in 2026 and receive five-million-dollars.
