(Lansing, MI) –  Lawmakers are looking to cut down on distracted driving. The state House this week passed a package of bills that will outlaw the use of a cell phone while driving unless it is being used by Bluetooth through the vehicle’s radio. Texting while driving has been illegal in Michigan for several years.

A bill to prescribe how many points would be assigned to someone’s driving record for more than one offense also passed.
