(Detroit, MI) — Former Michigan State University basketball star Keith Appling will spend between 18 and 40 years in prison for killing a relative in 2021. Appling pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder in the shooting death of his 66-year-old cousin Clyde Edmonds.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy called it “an extremely sad turn of events for a man that once had a promising future.”
