GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Thursday, May 27, Jill Biden will travel to Grand Rapids to highlight Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC).
The first lady is drawing attention to the partnerships between federal retail pharmacies and community college. Biden will talk about the role both play to administer COVID-19 vaccines. She will visit the vaccination clinic on GRCC’s campus. Biden will also make a similar trip to the Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri.
“We’re proud to welcome the first lady to GRCC, and deeply appreciate her support for community colleges and for vaccinating our community members,” GRCC President Bill Pink said. “Community colleges will play a vital role as our region emerges from the pandemic. This pop-up vaccination clinic is one more example of how GRCC and partnerships make West Michigan stronger.”
Biden is set to arrive at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport around 11 a.m. and tour the GRCC vaccination clinic around 11:45 a.m.
Biden is a former English and writing instructor at Delaware Technical & Community College and a proponent for the idea of free community college in the U.S.
