Ferrysburg, MI (WGHN) – A trailer malfunction sent a 31-foot boat crashing into a ditch along northbound US-31 in Ferrysburg Friday afternoon.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the scene near the Van Wagoner Road exit around 4:19 p.m. November 6th.
Authorities say the boat became detached from the towing vehicle after a mechanical failure involving the trailer. The vehicle and trailer jackknifed, causing the boat to travel through the guardrail and into the roadside ditch.
Northbound US-31 was reduced to one lane while crews worked to remove the boat and clear the scene.
No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
