Ottawa Countyt, MI (WGHN) – More than 11,000 absentee ballots have been returned to local clerk offices in Ottawa County as voters prepare for Tuesday’s general election.Ottawa County Clerk Justin Roebuck reported Wednesday that 67 percent of absentee ballots issued have been returned.

The update comes as Michigan’s nine-day early voting period enters its final days. Early voting ends Sunday, November first.

Roebuck says it’s still too early to compare turnout under Michigan’s new voting rules. The 2024 and 2026 elections are the first held under the expanded absentee and early voting system, so future elections will provide a better basis for comparison.
