(Lansing, MI) – Voters are receiving their absentee ballots for the November election. All U.S. and state House offices are up for grabs along with governor, attorney general, secretary of state, one U.S. Senate seat, the state Senate, and two statewide proposals. Proposal 1 asks voters if they want to approve a constitutional convention to re-write the state constitution and is on the ballot every 16 years. The last time it was approved was in 1962.
Proposal 2 is the Michigan Campaign Finance Act and would create new spending disclosure requirements for political and issue ads and add campaign contribution restrictions for regulated utilities, principles, and state and local contractors.
