West Michigan Gas Hits Five-Dollars Per Gallon

(Grand Rapids, MI)  — Gas prices at some West Michigan locations are hitting five-dollars per gallon.  That is approaching the statewide record average of five-22 that was reached in June 2022.  GasBuddy’s Patrick DeHaan says a regional power outage is a major factor in the price uptick.
Triple-A Michigan says the average prices in the Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland area is four-83 a gallon.  The auto club says the statewide average per-gallon price for diesel fuel is six-62, which is a Michigan record:
Gas prices are rising rapidly across the country, with the national average for regular gasoline costing between four-30 and four-44 per gallon.  Meanwhile, volatility in the Strait of Hormuz  has lifted crude oil prices past 100-dollars per barrel.
