(East Lansing, MI) – A Michigan economist who survived the 9/11 attack on New York’s World Trade Center is telling his story 25 years later. Patrick Anderson says he was in New York City for a conference and was at the Marriott hotel at 3 World Trade Center when a plane hit the adjoining North tower.
Despite being advised to stay in his room, he fled. The building was crushed by the falling towers a short time later. Anderson is now a trustee with the Michigan Remembers Fund. He says it’s the duty of those who survived to remember those who didn’t.
Anderson remembers the moment he realized something terrible was happening.
Anderson is thankful that he managed to get out in time.
Anderson says he wants to make sure people remember.
