State Senate Passes New Versions Of Nine Bills

(Lansing, MI) – New versions of the nine bills that Governor Gretchen Whitmer vetoed in July have been passed by the Michigan Senate. Whitmer said this summer that the vetoes were needed because the bills were in “legislative limbo” for 18 months after Republican House Speaker Matt Hall refused to send them to her until ordered to do so by a court. Three of the bills add new corrections, conservation and other state safety hires to Michigan State Police’s Pension Plus plan.

Seven Republicans joined Democrats to pass those bills.
