Canada’s Retaliatory Tariffs Kick In

(Ottawa)  –  Canada’s new tariffs on billions of dollars in American goods are now in effect, escalating the trade fight with the U.S.  NBC’s Alice Barr reports the tariffs range from 15 to 50 percent, covering some 27 billion dollars in U.S. imports:

Canada says the tariffs are in response to the 50-percent duties imposed by President Trump on Canadian goods.  The move comes as tensions between President Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney continue to rise, with trade talks stalled.
