GHAPS Adds Staff, Expands Food Service Partnership

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – As students across the tri cities head back to school following the Labor Day weekend, GHAPS is settling into the new academic year with updated staffing and food service plans.

The Board also approved three new hires for the 2026–27 school year, including an orchestra teacher who will serve Grand Haven High School and White Pines Intermediate School, a counselor at Grand Haven High School and a student success coach at Duneside Discovery Center says Assistant Superintendent Jason Reineke:

Reineke also says the student success coach at Duneside can also help with any adjustments any students will need to make since it is their first schooling experience.

The Board approved a new agreement for the GHAPS Food Services Department to provide meals to students at Walden Green Montessori through June 30, 2027.:

The partnership is expected to generate approximately $129,000 in annual revenue for the GHAPS Food Service program.
