GHAPS adjusts school day for extreme heat

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Some west Michigan school districts are changing to a half-day today due to the heat.

Grand Haven Area Public Schools is changing its schedule today because of dangerous heat and humidity.K-through-8 schools, Central High School and Duneside Discovery Center will have half-day dismissals. Grand Haven High School will follow its regular early-release Wednesday schedule, ending one hour early.

Open Door Child Care will close at noon.

Spring Lake has their first early release Wednesday on the schedule for today.

Heat index values in West Michigan are expected to reach the upper 90s to near 100 degrees.
