Allendale, MI (WGHN) – Four people are facing charges after an alleged home invasion and assault at an apartment near Grand Valley State University.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Saturday morning around 11:30 on Pierce Street. Deputies say a 19-year-old man was inside his apartment when three men allegedly broke in and assaulted him. The suspects also told the victim they had a firearm.
The victim managed to escape by jumping from a second-story window. Deputies say he suffered minor injuries from the fall and the assault. Investigators say the suspects stole cash and electronics from the apartment. Deputies identified a suspect vehicle and used the Flock camera system to track four suspects to Livingston County. All four were arrested and taken to the Ottawa County Jail.
Authorities say the suspects are all from the Detroit area, and the victim knew them. Deputies also say none of the suspects attend Grand Valley State University.
The four men were charged Monday.
Twenty-two-year-old Dalon Lyons is charged with armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
Twenty-two-year-old Kesean Shorter and 22-year-old Jwane Sanders are each charged with first-degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment and armed robbery.
And 22-year-old Jamon Cassity is charged as an accessory after the fact to armed robbery.
Their bonds range from 75-thousand to 300-thousand dollars.
The investigation remains ongoing.
