MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Michigan Irish Music Festival, presented by Family Financial Credit Union, announces its 2026 cultural lineup. The celebration of Irish heritage, music, and camaraderie will take place September 17–20, 2026, at Heritage Landing in Muskegon.
In addition to more than 25 musical artists performing across six stages, this year’s festival features a variety of experiences, classes, demonstrations, and presentations designed to immerse patrons in the richness of Irish and Celtic traditions.
2026 Cultural Highlights
“Not Your Dadio’s Ceili”
A standout activity in 2025, “Not Your Dadio’s Ceili” returns for 2026!
Hosted by Ceili caller Éamonn de Cógáin, this energetic and inclusive group dance experience welcomes participants of all skill levels. Guests will be guided through a lively, square-dance-style event filled with music, merriment, and laughter.
Hurling Demonstration
Experience one of Ireland’s most unique and historic sports!
Guests can try their hand at hurling on Saturday from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. and learn more about this fast-paced Irish tradition.
Interactive Workshops
Festivalgoers can participate in a variety of hands-on workshops, including:
- Celtic drumming
- Flute playing
- Limerick writing
Celtic Canines
The ever-popular Celtic Canines will return for a special meet-and-greet on Sunday from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Storytelling & Irish History
The festival offers several opportunities to explore Irish traditions, local history, and Celtic culture through storytelling and presentations.
- City of the Dead: Live actors from Muskegon’s City of the Dead will portray notable figures from local history on Friday from 8:30–9:30 p.m.
- The Wake House: Stop by the Wake House to learn about the longstanding Irish tradition of the wake.
- The Book of Kells: Attend a presentation highlighting the ancient manuscript The Book of Kells and the replica displayed at Muskegon’s own Hackley Public Library.
Irish Food & Drink
Culinary enthusiasts can enjoy live cooking demonstrations from the Baker College Culinary Institute of Michigan, featuring authentic Irish cuisine.
For guests 21 and older, separately ticketed tasting classes will also be available:
- Whiskey Tasting & Cheese Pairing with Wonderland Distilling Company
- Five Farms Irish Cream Cocktail Mixology Class
