Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – A Grand Haven Township man will spend at least six years in prison after admitting to secretly taking inappropriate photos of a child.

Thirty-four-year-old Lucas Christopher Spink pleaded guilty to child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime, and capturing or distributing an image of an unclothed person.

Authorities say Spink secretly took multiple photos of a child under the age of 16 between November 2024 and January 2026. According to court records, he later used artificial intelligence to create pornographic content using the images. A judge sentenced Spink to six to 20 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections. He was given credit for 116 days already served.

As part of the plea agreement, another charge was dismissed.  The Grand Haven Tribune reports that Spink will also be required to register under Michigan’s Sex Offender Registration Act.
