(Lansing, MI) — As parents send their kids back to school over the next few weeks, Michigan State Police are urging them to follow their advice when taking their back-to-school pictures. Troopers are reminding people that having a child holding a sign for their first day of school should never have their full name and the background of the image shouldn’t give away where it was taken. Lieutenant Pat Agema says extracurricular activities should also not be put on the sign, along with the name of the school.

He says the information can give bad people a detailed description of where they could find children.
