(Cascade Township, MI) – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy toured the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Wednesday to get a first-hand look at the upgrades and improvements that are being made. The Cascade Township airport is updating the communications systems, installing fiber to replace wire and installing new air traffic control radios. Duffy says they are in the second phase of the project and will slowly roll out new software starting next month.
He says the updates are expected to be mostly finished by the end of 2028.
