Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) –  Mosaic Counseling is expanding access to support by launching a new Monthly Men’s Support Group – Ottawa County, providing a safe, welcoming space for men to connect, share, and strengthen their mental health.

The group will hold its first meeting on Monday, July 20, and continue the third Monday of each month from 5:00–6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 508 Franklin Avenue, Grand Haven.
Executive Director Sarah Lewakowski:
Facilitated by Jeremy Wiersma, MA, LPC, and offered in partnership with supporter Jay Nicols, the support group is designed for men navigating life’s everyday challenges while seeking genuine connection and encouragement.
“Many men are taught to carry life’s burdens quietly, but no one should have to struggle alone,” said Sarah Lewakowski, MA, LLP. “This group creates a confidential, judgment-free environment where men can build meaningful relationships, find support, and recognize that asking for help is a sign of strength – not weakness.”
The Monthly Men’s Support Group welcomes men facing a variety of life experiences, including:
  • Stress and burnout
  • Relationship challenges
  • Family responsibilities
  • Career and workplace pressures
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Personal growth and life transitions
  • Isolation and loneliness
  • Simply looking to connect with other men in the community
The group is open to adults throughout Ottawa County, regardless of previous counseling experience.
For nearly five decades, Mosaic Counseling has worked to remove barriers to mental health care by providing affordable, accessible, and professional counseling services. Founded in Grand Haven in 1978, Mosaic continues to proudly serve Ottawa County while expanding services throughout West Michigan (now Kent County). Through outpatient counseling, school-based mental health services, employee assistance programs, community education, and suicide prevention initiatives, Mosaic is committed to ensuring individuals and families receive the support they need regardless of financial or insurance circumstances.
“Mental health affects everyone, and men’s mental health deserves greater attention and conversation,” said Sarah Lewakowski, Executive Director of Mosaic Counseling. “By creating spaces where men feel comfortable connecting with one another, we can reduce stigma, strengthen relationships, and ultimately build healthier families and healthier communities.”
