(GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP)-A pedestrian was hurt Friday afternoon when he was struck by a Georgetown Township fire engine at the corner of Baldwin Street and 28th Avenue.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, about 12:30 p.m, the fire engine was heading west on Baldwin Street and turned south onto 28th Avenue, where it hit a 25-year-old man who was crossing 28th Avenue on the south side of Baldwin Street.
LIFE EMS took the pedestrian to a nearby hospital for treatment. The fire engine’s driver and a passenger were not hurt. The victim’s condition has not been released.
The Michigan State Police is leading the investigation, which is still ongoing.
