(Lansing, MI) – Michigan saw fewer traffic deaths overall in 2025, even as bicyclist fatalities increased sharply. State police say just over one-thousand people were killed on Michigan roads last year, down 3 percent from 2024, while bicyclist deaths rose 21 percent to 35.
Officials say many of those crashes are happening on rural roads and are urging drivers to slow down and cyclists to use lights, reflective gear and helmets.
