(Ottawa County, MI) – Ottawa County’s first positive case of rabies this year is being confirmed. The Ottawa County Department of Public Health says a bat recently tested positive for rabies. Health officials remind everyone other animals could be exposed to rabies, which is a viral disease affecting the nervous system of mammals.
Pet owners are urged to make sure dogs and cats are up to date on their vaccinations.
