(Undated) – The spread of measles in the U.S. this year is outpacing the case count for all of 2025. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it has received reports of two-thousand-231 confirmed cases of measles as of July 9th. The U.S. is now less than 60 cases away from reaching last year’s total. The CDC found that 93-percent of this year’s outbreak are linked to people who are unvaccinated or whose vaccination status is unknown.

South Carolina is the state that has reported the most cases this year with 670. Symptoms include fever, cough, fatigue, watery eyes and runny nose, followed by a rash.
