(Lansing, MI) – A Senate bill is now before Governor Gretchen Whitmer that would enhance security for the Mackinac Bridge. The bill designates the bridge as a key facility and adds strengthened protections similar to oil refineries, chemical facilities, electrical facilities, and other locations that pose a public threat from unauthorized access.
The Michigan Department of Transportation and the Mackinac Bridge Authority support the bill.
