Ottawa Couty, MI (WGHN) – An 84-year-old Hudsonville man was injured after his SUV crashed into a Jamestown Township business Saturday morning, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 11:20 a.m. to the intersection of 32nd Avenue and Riley Street after receiving reports of a vehicle that had struck a building.
The investigation determined the man was driving a GMC Acadia south on 32nd Avenue when the SUV crossed the northbound lanes and crashed into the Jamestown Lawn and Rental building on the southeast corner of the intersection.
Investigators believe the driver may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash. The man was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the crash caused significant damage to the building. It was not immediately known whether anyone was inside at the time, but no other injuries were reported.
The Jamestown Township Fire Department assisted with patient care and evaluated the building for structural damage.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
