Ottawa County, MI (WGHN) – All the latest construction now on one page for your convenience.
Drivers in Grand Haven and Robinson townships should prepare for detours as construction begins on a new roundabout at the intersection of Lincoln Street and 144th Avenue.
The Ottawa County Road Commission says work is scheduled to begin Monday, July 6, with the intersection expected to remain closed until around Aug. 10, weather permitting.
The project includes removing the existing roadway, reconstructing the approaches to the intersection, installing storm sewer infrastructure, building the roundabout’s concrete curbs and center island, paving new asphalt, improving driveway approaches, and installing permanent signs and pavement markings.
During construction, both Lincoln Street and 144th Avenue will be closed to through traffic.
Detour routes include:
- Lincoln Street: Lincoln Street → 152nd Avenue → Groesbeck Street → Mercury Drive/Green Street → 128th Avenue
- 144th Avenue: Lake Michigan Drive (M-45) → 128th Avenue → Green Street/Mercury Drive
The Ottawa County Road Commission advises motorists to allow extra travel time, follow posted detour signs, and use caution when traveling near the construction zone.
