(Undated) — Forecasters say a “mega heat dome” is set to hit the eastern half of the U.S. next week. Two small heat domes will collide making for one large heat dome that will send temperatures into the triple digits. On Monday, St. Louis could hit 106-degrees, Chicago 102, and further south, Little Rock, Arkansas could see 106. On Wednesday, Cincinnati could see 107, while Nashville and Detroit could hit 104-degrees.

By Wednesday, Washington, DC could hit a sweltering 111-degrees. And the news gets worse: The mega heat dome could spark tropical storm development near the southern U.S. in the Atlantic and the Gulf.
