(Lansing, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer will appeal a Federal Emergency Management Agency decision that denied disaster assistance for west Michigan from four tornadoes that hit on March 30th. The tornadoes killed four people and damaged homes and businesses in Branch, Cass, and St. Joseph counties. Whitmer says families are still suffering from the damage.
The U.S. Small Business Administration did approve low-interest disaster loans for businesses, nonprofits, renters, and homeowners impacted by the storms.
