Beverly Hills, CA) – An auction of items from the life of iconic actress Marilyn Monroe brought in about two-and-a-half million dollars on what would have been her 100th birthday. Monday’s auction was made up of items taken from the estate of two of Monroe’s close friends, like the Christian Dior suit worn during her honeymoon with baseball star Joe DiMaggio in 1954. That went for 450-thousand dollars.

Other items on the block included a pair of earrings sold for 385-thousand dollars, a personal letter from playwright Arthur Miller as his marriage to Monroe was nearing its end and letters from Monroe’s psychologist.
