(Olive Township, MI) – Consumers Energy’s J.H. Campbell coal-fired power plant has been ordered by the U.S. Department of Energy to keep operating for another three months. The utility has been trying to close its last coal plant since last year. The Trump administration has claimed an energy emergency in issuing the order every three months.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says the emergency has been fabricated and has continued to try to close the plant in Ottawa County.
