(Ottawa County, MI) – Attorney General Dana Nessel, health advocates, community leaders and others will call on the federal government to shut down the J.H. Campbell coal-fired power plant next week. The plant was scheduled to close a year ago by Consumers Energy, but the Trump administration ordered it to remain open three-months at a time using what Nessel says is a made-up energy emergency. The plant is expected to be ordered to keep operating for a fight time soon.
Nessel says it is costing families and businesses 620-thousand-dollars a day to keep the plant open.
