Local Governments Set Packed Week of Meetings Across Tri-Cities Area

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – A full slate of government meetings is scheduled this week across the Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and Ferrysburg areas, with topics ranging from ambulance services to infrastructure projects and housing initiatives.

The Grand Haven City Council will meet Monday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 519 Washington Ave. Councilmembers are expected to take up several key items, including a proposed ambulance services contract with Life EMS, a $32,000 agreement for a drinking water service line investigation, and work tied to Harbor Island’s ongoing environmental remediation.

Ahead of the regular meeting, a work session will begin at 6:30 p.m., where city officials will review the community’s economic incentive policy. Agenda here. 

City leaders will reconvene Wednesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at Central Park Place for a budget work session.

In Spring Lake Township, the Board of Trustees will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at the Barber School. Trustees are expected to consider action on a Life EMS ambulance agreement, sidewalk projects along 174th Avenue, a 2026 road work plan, improvements at Rycenga Park, and a Corridor Improvement Authority loan.

The Spring Lake Village Council will begin Monday with a 5 p.m. work session at Village Hall. Discussions will include a potential partnership with neighboring municipalities to hire a part-time code enforcement officer, ambulance services with Life EMS, and pursuing Bird City USA designation.

Following that session, village officials will join township leaders for a special joint meeting at 6 p.m. at the Barber School to hear the Department of Public Works’ annual report.

The Grand Haven Township Board of Trustees will also meet Monday evening, with a light agenda that includes a proposed change to Loutit Library Board compensation.

At the county level, the Ottawa County Groundwater Board meets Monday morning in West Olive. A series of meetings will follow Tuesday, including the Finance and Administration Committee, a Board of Commissioners work session focused on the Parks and Open Space Millage proposal, and the Planning and Policy Committee.
