Zeeland Twp., MI (WGHN) – A 32-year-old Grand Rapids man is dead after a crash along I-196 in Zeeland Township Wednesday morning.
Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies say it happened around 10:30 a.m. just east of mile marker 53 near 96th Avenue. The man was driving west when his vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons.
The car went down an embankment and struck multiple trees, ejecting the driver. Investigators believe he was not wearing a seat belt.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles or passengers were involved, and his name has not yet been released.
