Expanded exhibit features ships, French architecture, and contemporary miniatures — including a spectacular 10.5-foot Titanic — drawn from the newly acquired Carole & Barry Kaye Collection
Grand Haven, MI — The Midwest Miniatures Museum is excited to announce its seasonal reopening on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Following its winter closure, the Museum returns with more to explore than ever before: a brand-new second-floor exhibit expansion featuring three distinct galleries open for the very first time.
The new galleries — dedicated to maritime history, French architecture, and contemporary miniature art — mark a significant milestone in the Museum’s ongoing growth. The centerpiece of the expansion is a breathtaking 10.5-foot-long miniature of the RMS Titanic, made of 75,000 toothpicks, a showstopping piece sure to captivate visitors of all ages.
The second-floor expansion provides the Museum an opportunity to showcase highlights from the newly acquired Carole and Barry Kaye Collection. These extraordinary pieces, making their public debut at the Midwest Miniatures Museum, represent some of the finest miniature artistry in the country and bring fresh energy and depth to the Museum’s already impressive holdings.
“This expansion has been years in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with our guests,” said Dr. Chris Green, Executive Director, Midwest Miniatures Museum.
“The Carole and Barry Kaye Collection brings pieces of remarkable artistry and historical significance to our community. We are honored to be their stewards and so excited to begin sharing them with our visitors.”
The Museum is committed to ensuring all guests can enjoy the new exhibits. For visitors who are unable to climb stairs, a dedicated digital exhibit experience on the first floor will make the new galleries fully accessible, bringing every piece and its story to every guest.
All three new galleries are included with the Museum’s standard admission, and ticket prices remain unchanged. No additional fee is required to enjoy the exhibit expansion.
