Port Sheldon Twp., MI (WGHN) – A 21-year-old Grand Rapids man has died after he drove his vehicle off the gravel shoulder into the sand losing control between the two surfaces and then causing the vehicle to roll over. The crash occurred in a construction area of Van Buren Street where the westbound lane was all sand and the eastbound lane is gravel.
The driver who was not wearing a seat belt was ejected from the vehicle just after 7:00 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ottawa County Central Dispatch Authority at 1-800-249-0911 or Silent Observer.
