Muskegon, MI (WGHN) – In Muskegon County, Chobani — parent company of La Colombe Coffee Roasters — is planning a major expansion in Norton Shores.
The company is expected to invest 567 million dollars into its facility, creating 337 new jobs while retaining more than 300 existing positions.
The site will become the main hub for La Colombe’s coffee operations, including manufacturing, production, research, and innovation.
City leaders say the investment is expected to have a major impact on the local economy and workforce, with long-term growth opportunities for the region.
The expansion could also significantly increase the amount of raw milk purchased from Michigan farmers, rising from about 30 million pounds to more than 600 million pounds.
State funding and infrastructure improvements, including wastewater system upgrades across the region, are helping support the project and position Muskegon County for continued growth.
