(West Bloomfield, MI) – Repairs are being made to Temple Israel in West Bloomfield after a man rammed his pickup truck into the synagogue last week before killing himself. Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit is also offering counseling for community members who have been impacted by the attack, and CEO Perry Ohren says it was a miracle that no one else was seriously injured or killed.
The nonprofit Common Ground is also offering mental health support, and senior director of community impact Jamie Ayers says they have had a steady turnout since Saturday. Jewish Family Service is offering free, drop-in hours all this week.
