(Toronto) – Daylight Saving Time has documented health effects on humans, but it can also impact dogs. It can cause some house pets to wonder why their feeding schedule seems different at first, but it can also have a more significant effect on working dogs. Researchers at the University of Toronto looked at how Daylight Saving Time affected sled dogs.
They found that the time switch led to an increase in activity before their handlers arrived, but the dogs got back to normal after one or two days.
