(Lansing, MI) – A state Senate committee held a hearing yesterday on a package of bills known as the “Kids Over Clicks” legislation. The bills would mandate stricter data privacy and safety settings for minors, give parents more control over their kids’ accounts, restrict AI companion chatbots, and prohibit social media platforms from providing personal data-driven feeds to minors without parental consent.
Senators asked why parents have not been more involved in cutting the screen time of kids during the hearing.
