State House Passes $152-Million For Selfridge Air National Guard Base

(Lansing, MI) – The Michigan House has approved spending 152-million-dollars to build new runways at Selfridge Air National Guard Base for the 21 new F-15EX Eagle II planes. Governor Whitmer’s office, however, says the Republican majority in the House jumped the gun with passage of the bill. State House Speaker Matt Hall wants to speed up the process for getting the new air mission in place before President Trump’s term is over in 2028.

Hall says the federal government won’t have the needed improvements for the 21 new jets until 2030 at Selfridge and says Michigan “can’t wait for the federal bureaucracy to get it done.”
