(Washington, DC) – There’s no end in sight to the partial government shutdown that’s left the Department of Homeland Security without funding for more than two weeks. Democrats have demanded reforms to Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations amid the Trump administration’s crackdown across the country. The Trump administration sent a proposal to end the impasse last week but negotiations continue behind closed doors.
Democrats and Republicans are blaming each other for the current shutdown which is affecting agencies like the Transportation Security Administration and the Coast Guard.
