(Lansing, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer will deliver her final State of the State address tonight before a joint session of the Michigan Legislature. Whitmer’s speech is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the state House of Representatives. She will tout her victories since being elected governor in 2018, including funding long-term road repairs and enacting tax cuts for seniors.
Whitmer is also in a rare position as her approval rating remains at 52-percent, higher than John Engler’s 47-percent approval rating in January 2002, Jennifer Granholm’s 35-percent approval rating in February 2010, and Rick Snyder’s 26-percent approval rating in February 2018.
