(Romulus, MI) – Congresswomen Debbie Dingell and Rashida Tlaib are calling for people to rally before the Romulus City Council meeting Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. as they fear Michigan could be the next target for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The two Democrats were joined by state Representatives Ranjeev Puri and Dylan Wegela to make the call to action. Indivisible Downriver United 734 co-founder Ashley Perry says they intend “to pack that room with Romulus residents front and center, because those who call Romulus home should have the loudest voice in what happens.”
ICE is reportedly looking to convert a warehouse in Romulus near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport to a detention center for immigration violators.
