(Lansing, MI) – Sixty-seven school districts will split ten-million-dollars from the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential. The money will be used for helping students complete the Universal Free Application for Federal Student Aid Challenge. Filling out FAFSA is a requirement for high school graduation, but students can also opt out. MiLEAP director Beverly Walker-Griffea says completing the FAFSA “is one of the most important steps a student can take to unlock postsecondary opportunity.”

Over 67-thousand FAFSA applications were filled out by the class of 2025.
