(Lansing, MI) – Republican candidate for governor Tom Leonard is proposing to establish an Ambassador to the Upper Peninsula position with a dedicated office presence. Leonard says that will give Yoopers a direct line to his office if he wins the November election. He says the Upper Peninsula has been treated as an afterthought “for too long.”
Leonard says whomever is chosen for the post will be a U.P. resident who will report directly to him and work with local leaders.
