Muskegon, MI (WGHN) – A 19-year-old wanted for shooting at Muskegon Township police officers is now in custody.

U.S. Marshals say Janari Kemon Spencer was arrested around 10:45 Friday morning at the Rodeway Inn in Grand Haven. He’d been on the run since October 15, when investigators say he fired an AR-style weapon at officers — hitting a patrol car but not injuring anyone — before escaping in a getaway car.

The arrest was made by the U.S. Marshals Grand Rapids Fugitive Task Force, which includes state, local, and federal officers. Two others were also taken into custody at the motel and could face charges for harboring a fugitive.

The case remains under investigation.
