(Undated) – The average price for a dozen eggs is declining for the third month in a row. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, consumers are paying three-dollars-and-77-cents for eggs, which is down from March’s record-high carton costs. Bird flu outbreaks in January and February caused the average price to skyrocket in March, but cases of the avian flu are more controlled now.
The declining cost of eggs has also prompted popular breakfast chains like Denny’s and Waffle House to remove temporary surcharges that went in effect.
