Port Sheldon Twp.,MI (WGHN) – A 40-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning following a standoff with Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies in Port Sheldon Township.
Deputies responded to a home on Fellows Station around 1:15 a.m. after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance involving a firearm. When officers arrived, the suspect, identified as Ismael DeJesus, refused to communicate with law enforcement for several hours. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Critical Response Team was called to the scene and eventually entered the residence, where DeJesus was taken into custody without incident.
DeJesus has been arraigned and is facing multiple charges, including felonious assault, possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, and domestic violence. His bond was set at $100,000.
The investigation remains ongoing.
